Roberto Mancini took over the Azzurri’s when the chips were down, however he was determined to do the job and has maintained a winning attitude in almost 40 straight matches. He took the job after the team couldn’t even qualify for the world cup in 2018.
The Azzurri were a darling of so many in the just concluded Europe 2020, their consistency in ball possession each time they play and their determination to win the tournament is unprecedented. They won the cup by penalties after a 1-1 game time, right in presence of the English fans and in their home.. what a feat!
