Efan Ekoku Was The First Nigerian To Score A Hattrick In The Premiere League

Efan Ekoku was the first Nigerian to play in the Premier League.

He is the third Nigerian leading goalscorer in the Premier League with 52 goals, behind Kanu Nwankwo (54) and Yakubu Aiyegbeni (95).

In September 1993, he became the first Nigerian player to score a Premier League Hattrick in Norwich City’s 5-1 win over Everton at Goodison Park. He actually scored four goals in that game.

At international level, he made six appearances for the Nigerian national team.

Following his retirement, Ekoku has worked as a commentator, a pundit and match analyst.

He was inducted into the Norwich City Hall of Fame in 2012.
