French international and Real Madrid prolific striker, Kareem Benzema wins the 2022 FIFA Ballon D’or Award making him the 2022 world best player in the men’s category, well deserved.
It is an award long overdue because the striker has remained consistent with his career scoring goals and making assist.
Predominantly, the Ballon D’or has become a Spanish affairs with the likes of CR7 winning it 5 times, L. Messi 7, Luca Modric 1 and now Benzema in recent times spanning almost 15 years.
Team mate and goal stopper, Thibaut Coutoirs won the best goalkeeper in men’s category too.
The award has seen other great talents nominated but didn’t get to win the award, players like Thiery Henry, Neymar Jr, Iniesta, Xavi, Higuain and a very sad one for Lewandosky who was robbed of his by the Covid-19 pandemic due to the award cancellation.
