Gave My Dad My Only Car Before I traveled To USA – Tunde Onakoya As He Becomes NORD Ambassador

Nigerian born Guinness world record holder, Tunde Onakoya the master chess player has bagged an ambassadorial deal with NORD Motion(Motors) as he defeated the chairman on a keenly contested Chess game.

Tunde who didn’t see the deal coming narrated how the event happened. Prior to that, he had gifted his parents the only car he had as he was going to the famous US trip that got the world talking and a standing ovation as breaks the Guinness Record. He recanted, “Just before I traveled to America, I called my dad and gave him my only car. He had sold his taxi 13 year ago so I can pay for my WAEC and Jamb examination fees. The joy on his face brought tears- it was the least I could do for my parents who sacrificed everything so I could get an Education.”

But little did he know that something bigger and better was on it way, of course we know that making your parents happy has its unique blessings and this is one of them.

Tunde Onokoya and NORD Motion CEO, Oluwatobi Ajayi slogging it out

Talking about the game that got him this beautiful machine, Tunde was appreciative of the fact that his opponent was a great Chess player, he narrowly won the game; “Yesterday, I got a call from Oluwatobi Ajayi, the CEO of NORD Motion, inviting me to his office for a chat and a chess match. During our conversation, he proposed an outrageous deal: if I could beat him, I could choose any car in their showroom for free.
Knowing he was a strong chess player from our previous game analysis(Although we had never played before), I accepted the challenge. After about an hour of intense play, I managed to win from a very complex position.

“This all still feels surreal, but I’m thrilled to announce that I am now a global brand ambassador of a NORD A7 SUV built and assembled in Nigeria. Life really isn’t scripted, and I’m super grateful to be able to use my gifts to inspire the world and inadvertently brought a lot of goodness my way too and this love is one I’ll never take for granted.”
