Former Super Eagles midfielder, Seyi Olofinjana is currently one of the top African Coaches in the world, as he obtained the highest coaching certificate in European football, the UEFA Pro Licence. Seyi has join the big Coaches who can pursue those grade-A clubs for job and will be considered.
After retirement in 2014, Seyi Olofinjana has worked for former club Wolves as U23 Coach before becoming their Loans and Pathways Manager in June 2018 and in 2021 he became the Technical Director at Swiss club Grasshopper Club Zürich.
The transition from player to coach and to technical director is a path well-travelled. But not many step out of their comfort zone like Olofinjana who removed himself from England life just for the ambition of the Swiss side.
After hanging up his boots, Olofinjana looked to broaden his knowledge and pursued the MSc Sports Directorship at Manchester Metropolitan University. This was in addition to having already acquired degrees in Chemical Engineering in Ladoke Akintola University, Ogbomoso Oyo State Nigeria and an MSc in Project Management in Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen Scotland. The ex-international views it as an important step to compliment his footballing experience from a broader perspective.
