Super Eagles Captain, Ahmed Musa Defends Alex Iwobi From Attacks

Super Eagles captain and forward, Ahmed Musa has intervene on the ongoing attacks on his fellow team mate, Alexander Iwobi who many believed didn’t play his role as he should, and that caused Nigeria the AFCON 2023 final against Cote D’Ivoire.

Even though the host over powered the Eagles in the midfield, it was expected that Alex Iwobi would provide his vast experience to help contain the Ivorians but the shoes size was supposedly too big for him.

Angry football fans who are hurt after the defeat took to social media to vent their frustration, attacking Iwobi for his ‘lackadaisical’ attitude at the competition..

Iwobi was forced to delete every picture and video on his Instagram page with just one left. Ahmed Musa has stepped in and pleaded with Nigerians to stop the cyber bullying and the vituperation;

“Dear fans, I want to please urge you to halt the cyber-bullying directed towards Alex Iwobi. Cyber bullying is not just a violation of decency but also a serious crime. It’s hypocritical to claim that football unites us while engaging in such behavior.

“Losing a game is undoubtedly tough, but targeting a single player for the team’s shortcomings is unfair and unjust. We win as a team, and we lose as a team. Alex gave his all on the field, just like every member of our squad.

“Instead of spreading negativity, let’s show genuine love and support to our players. They need our encouragement now more than ever. Let’s uplift each other and stand united, both in victory and defeat. πŸ‘πŸ¦…πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬ THANKS”
