Embattled singer and record label CEO, Azeez Fashola popularly known as Naira Marley has issued a statement concerning the ongoing controversy sorrounding the death of his former signee, Mohbad.

The singer who is among the prime suspects, in a letter released through his social media handle explains his innocence on the matter.

“… Permit me to categorically state that I have no hand in the death of Ilerioluwa, either directly or indirectly. It’s not unusual in the industry, just like several other industries to have family friction, even amongst blood relatives.”

“Truly, we had our own share of misunderstanding whilst working together, but the disagreement between us was never to the extent being painted by some hirelings. It never degenerated to the extent of wishing each other death. Even at that we were resolving our business disputes legally before he had passed.”

Naira Marley also said in emphasis on the letter, that he’s not a drug peddler contrary to the rumors flying around on social media that Marlian Music is used for peddling drugs and that he’s not a drug lord.

Many also associates him to a black fraternity(cult) which he also debunked and assures the public that he will cooperate with the police and all relevant security agencies on the ongoing investigation so that those behind the death of Mohbad be brought to justice.
