Why NFF President, Gusau Should Work With FA Chairmen Closely, Especially That Of FCT

Nigerians and football lovers around the country breathed a sigh of relief in September last year, 2022 from the Amaju Pinnick led NFF, as the Federation got a new handler in the person of Ibrahim Gusau.

Seven months into this new administration we are still struggling to see the magic wand as it were. Many are hoping that by now; the chorus would have been sung differently, maybe it is, but not loud or visible enough yet. Perhaps, more time is what is required.

If we look back in retrospect before the NFF election we had so many brilliant ideas from those who just wanted the seat to those who really have the knowledge of how to better the federation and the game at large, this include FA Chairmen with excellent ideas brought to the fore.
Football administration this time around should be a departure from the norm, why? Because state FA Chairmen are the primary component if NFF wants to succeed and make giant strides, thankfully Ibrahim Gusau the NFF President was a former FA Chairman in Zamfara state.

The most outstanding FA Chairman in recent times in Nigeria is the FCT FA Chairman, Abba Mouktar. I minced no words in saying this, the records are there for anyone to verify.
He’s one man Gusau Should Work closely with because, the transformation that has happened in such a short time under him as FCT FA Chairman is a case study.

And sometimes, when we say transformation, it is relative but Abba Mouktar is up to date in the reforms and innovations he’s brought. Always exploring new channels to make the game of football what it is, beautiful and glamorous.

A synergy with state FAs is something we have not really given at least eighty percent(80%) of attention to, It should be a robust participation where the vision of the federation would be communicated from that level of grassroot to the top of football administration in Nigeria.

Nigerians want to see more progress in our National Teams! The Super Eagles is neither here nor there at the moment. Falcons too, even with the successes recorded at the recent friendly matches in a row, much is still expected going forward. U-17, 20 and 23 will really put the programs of the NFF on the spot if it is progressive or otherwise.
