Burna Boy Surpasses Davido As The Afrobeat Artist With The Most Singles Certification In US
Last Last’ has enjoyed impressive success since it was released in May 2022. The single has achieved cross-continental success which has helped it to reach a number 74 peak on Billboard Hot 100.
The huge popularity of ‘Last Last’ across multiple countries has even made different people regard it as the 2022 song of the summer.
It also recently sold more than 500,000 thousand copies in the United States which made it eligible for gold certification. This sees Burna Boy surpass Davido as the Afrobeats artist with the most singles certification in the United States with ‘Last Last’ becoming his third singles certification after ‘YE’ and ‘On the Low’.
Burna Boy has also announced that he’s working on ‘Love, Damini’ deluxe, and amongst the anticipated singles on the deluxe is a possible ‘Last Last’ remix that features Nigerian-UK rapper Dave.
The remix when it’s released would certainly further propel the song for a new run that will culminate into more streaming numbers and perhaps a new peak on Billboard Hot 100, UK Top 40, and Nigeria’s TurnTable Top 100.
Last last is actually huge, although toni Braxton gets 60 percent of the proceeds from that song, the song has been really successful and I can’t wait to hear Dave on the remix, it’s going to be everything.
