“The Blindsight device from Neuralink will enable even those who have lost both eyes and their optic nerve to see.

“Provided the visual cortex is intact, it will even enable those who have been blind from birth to see for the first time.

“To set expectations correctly, the vision will be at first be low resolution, like Atari graphics, but eventually it has the potential be better than natural vision and enable you to see in infrared, ultraviolet or even radar wavelengths, like Geordi La Forge.

Much appreciated, US FDA!”

In conclusion, Musk thanked the US Food and Drug Administration(US FDA) for making it possible for the monumental achievement to happen. The Food and Drug Administration(FDA) is responsible for protecting the public health by assuring the safety, efficacy and securing of human and veterinary drugs, biological products, medical devices, food supply, cosmetics and products that emit radiation just like our own NAFDAC in Nigeria.

Musk who is the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, also owns Neuralink, a Neurotechnology Company that’s building an implantation, brain-computer interface capable of translating thoughts into action, founded in 2016.
