Ahmed Garba ‘Yaro Yaro’ The King Who Still Reigns From The sidelines
Ex Nigeria international Ahmed Garba popularly known as ‘Yaro Yaro’ is one household name we can’t forget in a hurry, especially to those who are familiar with northern football and the club kano pillars.
Yaro Yaro (boy boy), born 24th may 1980 in the pyramid city kano, now known as centre of commerce. He began his career with junior pillars in 1995 coming from pyramid football club in brigade kano..
till date we have not seen a football player like Yaro Yaro in kano without sounding immodest, the statistics are there for all to see. Not even after his retirement!
He played the round leather game so well that he was even nicknamed ‘Zagalo’ after the Brazilian legend ‘Mario Zagalo’. Yaro Yaro is one gifted footballer that ever walked the face of the earth.
As a young man he won the heart of the then coach of the super eagles, Bora Milutinovic and he didnt disappoint him either at the carlsberg cup 1998 in Hongkong which was his first outing with the eagles.
His only goal against Iran brought Nigeria to the finals which Nigeria won.
He retired from active play in 2015 to pursue a managerial career in football.
Yaro Yaro, as a manager in the capacity of the Assistant Coach in kano pillars is doing so well and has brought his magical touch to the team which the players are currently enjoying.
This man practically commands football!
