During a Serie A match between Napoli and Lazio back in 2012, Miroslav Klose scored for Lazio in the 4th minute through a corner kick.
But while all Lazio players were seen celebrating, Klose walked up to the referee and admitted that he had handled the ball into the net. The decision was reversed, and the Napoli players came up to Klose to thank him for his honesty.
Sepp Blatter wrote on Twitter:
Bravo Miro Klose. With your gesture you have shown yourself to be a champion and a proper player.”
Esteban Cambiasso said: “We should praise the honesty of Klose. We must honour this gesture. It is an example for all children to follow.”
