One Of Nollywood’s A-List Screen goddess, Genevieve Nnaji Celebrates 44th Birthday
The story of Nollywood can’t be successfully written without mentioning this special and unique breed of homo sapiens called Genevieve Nnaji.
Born on 3 May 1979, she’s a Nigerian actress, producer, director and a vital member of the Nollywood industry in the A list category of actors.
She won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role in 2005, making her the first actor to win the award.
In 2011, she was honoured as a Member of the Order of the Federal Republic by the Nigerian government for her contributions to Nollywood. Her directorial debut movie, Lionheart, is the first Netflix film from Nigeria and the first Nigerian submission for the Oscars.
She’s one actress who has largely been part of those who shaped the narrative in Nollywood over the last 3decades. Here’s to celebrating one of Nigeria’s finest screen goddess in the make-believe industry.
