Patrick Mboma One Of Cameroon’s Most Celebrated Player Is Second To Eto’o In Goals

Patrick Mboma won the Africa Cup of Nations with Cameroon in 2000 and 2002, finishing the tournament’s top scorer in the latter, as well as the Summer Olympics in 2000. He was named Africa Footballer of the Year in 2000. He was Cameroon’s all-time top scorer with 33 goals in 57 games before Eto’o broke his record by scoring 48. He scored a stunning overhead kick against France at the Stade de France in an international friendly in 2000.

At club level, he played for the likes of PSG, Cagliari, Parma, Sunderland, Gamba Osaka and Tokyo Verdy. He won the Coupe de France with PSG and the Coppa Italia with Parma. He finished top scorer at the Coppa Italia in 1999 – 2000, as well as Japanese League top scorer in 1997.

Mboma is currently 51 years old.
