The Only Player In Football History To Play For 3 Different Countries At The World Cup

Dejan Stankovic is the only footballer to play for three different countries at the world cup.

At the 1998 world cup tournament held in France, he represented Yugoslavia. But by 2003, Yugoslavia became history- and Serbia & Montenegro came into existence.

At the 2006 world cup tournament held in Germany, Stankovic captained Serbia & Montenegro.

By 2010, Serbia and Montenegro had become two independent nations- and Stankovic played for Serbia.
