Trace TV and Other Media Houses Joins D’banj As He Celebrates 20 Years On Stage

Dapo Daniel Oyebanjo musically known as D’banj is one of those special artistes who revolutionize the music industry in Nigeria some two decades ago. This was made possible by the help of his friend and producer, Michael Collins Ajereh also known as Don Jazzy who made countless of hits as the duo took Nigeria by surprise with their unique and first of it kind style known as, “Tongolo”.

In the same breathe a metaphor that ruled Nigeria for many years was born, ‘The KoKo’ and he went ahead to become the “Koko master” as he is still refer to today amidst may other names like “Bangalee, “Kapello” and “Mensah.”

D’banj is an entertainer per excellence, he’s a stage master who can keep his audience spellbound for many hours.. in fact, at some point he will have to be begged out of the stage.

Celebrating 20 successful years of entertaining the world is really a remarkable achievement having gone through a lot.. myriads of challenges, from loosing a son to facing a false rape charge and splitting from producer and partner etc. D’banj was the first artiste from Nigeria to do a major collaboration with an American artiste, “Mr Endowed Remix” featuring Snoop Dogg.

That was the beginning of great things for them at Mo’hits Records then even as they went ahead to sign a mega record deal with Kanye West. Winning so many awards and accolades.., like he ‘D’banj’ said, he still can’t believe it’s 20 years already.. “A big thank you to everyone who came out last night! It was an amazing time and I’m humbled and grateful.

Still can’t believe it’s been 20 years already, thank you for sticking with me!

Special thanks to all the media partners especially Trace Naija for your support Oooshe!!”
