Produce For Lagos: Governor Sanwoolu Signs Food Production Deal With Niger State

In a way to cushion the economic hardship and bring governance close to the people, Lagos State government led by Governor, Babajide Sanwoolu has signed a Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) with his counterpart, Governor Umar Bago of Niger State to enhance agricultural collaboration.

The initiative is geared towards a sustainable agricultural future for both states, this will create growth and stability for the benefit of the citizens.

According to the official statement from the Governor of Lagos; “Today marks a pivotal moment as we embark on the “Produce for Lagos Initiative” with Niger State.

I signed the Memorandum of Understanding with Governor @HonBago , paving the way for a sustainable agricultural future, where food security and productivity thrives between Lagos State and Niger State. Together, we are setting a new standard for state collaboration.

“The essence of the #ProduceForLagos initiative lies in its strategic partnership, aiming to harness Niger State’s vast agricultural potential and Lagos State’s organized market. From paddy to tubers and grains, this initiative guarantees a consistent supply of essential food items.

“With this agreement, Niger State farmers are assured of a steady market for their produce, fostering growth and stability in their livelihoods. Meanwhile, Lagosians will benefit from regular access to food supplies, ensuring availability and price stability of essential food items.
