37-Year-Old Former Black Stars Striker and Captain, Asamoah Gyan Retires From Football

Ghanaian international, former striker and captain of the Black Stars, Asamoah Gyan has called it a quit on the game he loves so much. Born 22nd of November 1985, he’s part of the Ghana national team that got to the quarter finals in the 2014 FIFA World Cup. He’s the all-time highest goal scorer in the Ghana national team with 51goals.

Gyan is a retired professional footballer who last played as a striker for Legon Cities FC and has played for many clubs from Africa to Europe to Asia and the Middle East respectively. He’s a force to reckon with in Africa and the world at large, especially the Ghana national team, Black Stars.

The goal scorer announced his retirement almost 48hours ago and has got many emotional, football lovers commenting and fans eulogizing.. in a signed statement by the player which reads in part;

“… I want to take this great opportunity, a stage that is difficult in every footballer’s career, a moment all footballers do not wish, but when nature dawns, that thin voice will keep echoing into the ears..”
