Funke Akindele Breaks Nollywood All Time Record, With Over 1Billion Naira Ticket Sales
Funke Akindele’s “A Tribe Called Judah” on the 4th of January 2023 hit a billion naira in ticket sales in the midst of blockbusters like, Toyin Abraham’s “Malaika” and Mercy Aigbe’s “Ada Omo Daddy.”
The action comedy stars Funke Akindele, Timini Egbuson, Jide Kene Achufusi, Uzee Usman, Tobi Makinde, and Olumide Oworu in key roles and follows a family heist to rob a luxury furniture store in a mall but find armed robbers already inside when they arrive.
One would have thought that, since there are other two competitive Movies released in the same month, the market will be tight but she has always shown that she’s in a class of her own.
The big screen feature distributed by Film One began its nationwide run 15th of December, 2023 and has brought 285, 410 in admissions and N1.06 billion in gross earnings.
